Dear Ron, I knew the TITLE and THE AUTHOR, world famous, English, lived in Old China, but I do not know the STORY you mentioned, so odd I knew all things about PEARL S. BUCK but none of her stories. Sorry

Pear Blossom, Lotus' Slave. Would THAT be so bad? I don't know, not recalling the story, IF i ever knew it, though title and author ring a bell. bri ;)
