I Could Hear..... Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Could Hear.....

Rating: 4.9

Slowly, slowly I was going deep,
Hearing some flick sound of beep,
May be doctor around checking the pulses,
Not enduring pain and trying to repulse,

Nose blocked with pipes and tapped,
Hand also tied with needle and capped,
All sort of medicines mustered in vanes,
Horrible sound of ventilator with open panes,

Slowly hearing some known voice,
Without hearing aid I had no choice,
Trying to pick what was going on,
Some was telling feed with spoon,

Such was state when I was on bed,
Life support system with artificial fed,
I thought of, may be, nearing end,
All preparations for ears to lend,

I tried murmur but simply failed,
Whole body tied as if jailed,
Life boat sinking with deep sink,
Eyes were closing without any wink,

All youth and child scenes simply emerged,
Wished all could happen without being caged,
No ill feeling whatsoever in mind,
Mind at rest with all feelings kind,

I wished it could happen in peaceful way,
Destined by God and we have no say,
It may happen and bound to take place,
Mortal may remain without any replace,

It is all painful and can’t be explained,
Deep sinking but memories remained,
Relatives gripped with worries and tense,
End should be peaceful without loosing sense,

Body may not cope up with all ordeals,
Stopping of food and without any meals,
Wishes can’t be expressed even if admire,
Merely going down without desire
