I Confess, My Lord Comments

Rating: 5.0

I confess, my Lord,
I'm no more of a believer than anyone else.
My sorrow is just like other sorrows, an endless journey to the unknown,
As is happiness; an invisible icon of life,

As are other emotions; invisible to the eye, But so very visible to the human soul; I love this line... From the badlands of the soul to the magnificent lovers' fountains, From white solitary... ...to endless horizons of love, From heart to heart, So that my own lonely heart Finds the safe harbour of a loving heart, ...And the contrasts depicted above... signaling HOPE May you find your safe harbour. Well done!

Dear people, if you only knew how cold it is To be alone in such a holy silent night... My song is my coat, and angels are my family, I have no father, no mother, to have a sister is a mere wish - Oh, me, an abandoned boy, sadly wandering around! Very touching and heart-wrenching. He is our constant companion in a world where sometimes those around us don't understand. Blessing to you. Big 10

beautiful confession to the Almighty- Oh, dear Lord, I confess: It was only yesterday when I was a flagbearer for hope, And today... today I'm but an aged servant of the feather, Like a weather vane on top of the world, /// the servant of the feather like a weather vane on top of the world// touches me interestingly

I relate to much of this, Walter. What comes to mind right away are Ps 34, which I’ve been memorizing, and what it means to be Israel (or ysra-el) , one who wrestles with God, one who knows God is and in that knowledge confesses, speaks, complains... for all is heard by God who pities us as a parent and knows that we are dust. -Glen

Classic! Beautiful verse! I agree with Valsa, this poem is very...very deep and full of meaning(compassion) ..Yes, very eloquent verse..I feel the sadness, but I also see a poet who has a grasp of and the vocabulary to put those feelings into a form easy to understand. Exceelent work.

A beautiful supplication to God Almighty for divine guidance to lead a life of worth. We are all humans with our share of joys and sorrows. But there are others who confront greater ordeals in life..... Some are orphans with no body to love them.Only by sharing our bounty with the less fortunate, we become human! Let us turn to others' suffering with empathy and compassion! Wish you a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year! A 10

servant of the feather? ? ? and i don't know why you threw in the parts about an abandoned boy, in a seemingly incongruous fashion. i doubt i've ever used incongruous before today, but i believe it fits, your use of semicolons also bothered me. the topic is compassion and i do feel part of the poem is meant to promote compassion, but overall the poem doesn't work for me. bri ) : but i seem to not agree with others who commented; how does such happen! ?

Awesome poem with great imagery. Thanks for inviting me to read this wonderful poem. I quote few lines: Like a candle in an old missionary's trembling hand, still showing the way: From the badlands of the soul to the magnificent lovers' fountains, From white solitary mountain peaks to green flowering valleys, From cold winter nights to bright spring mornings, From dark abandoned streets to endless horizons of love, From heart to heart, .

My song is my coat What a fine image! Your style and rhythm reminds me of the French poet, Paul Claudel. There is a majestic sweep to the poem which I found very moving. I'm a doubting Thomas myself wishing I had Faith so your messages affect me greatly.
