Its always nice to remember—memories keep us in connection with ourselves. Nice poem – keep writing.

It's interesting how the mind can play tricks. And yet, you've turned that mindful trick into a mindful poem. A sad heart felt poem. A poem that comes from your heart and soul. Empathy and vivid imagery. Great ingredients for masterful poetry. Congrats on yet another excellent write.

This is more like a story rather than poetry. I it missing some required elements for poetry. There's pros poetry but, at least it should have a rhythm or meter. It can be a great short story though. Hope you don't mind my comment since I usually like your work. Perhaps you can review it, it doesn't have to rhyme but what about a beat? That would make it more enjoyable.

You have mastered the art of story telling poetic form. I really felt carried away by your feeling and felt gloomy for the you remembered. You are great writer poet. My favorite lines of poems runs below: Despite the choices you chose And the lifestyle you lived The man I knew Still had the innocent heart Of that young skater boy You showed me the kind side Of your personality Your sweetness and caring Your love of life itself.

Another sad, but all too familiar a story - it happens too often these days. Good write Colleen.

It is so true, Colleen, some of us make wrong choices, but it does not make them bad people. All have a soft spot, somewhere deep inside a good heart. I think that each of us have both sides in us. If one is brutally murdered, it is sad, no matter what were the circumstances. I like the poem very much, it is truly touching.

Kept my attention. It's really sad to lose someone, like this! But your poem captured the sadness and void caused by his death in a manner that I was almost on the verge of crying! May you be blessed with strength. Keep writing.

I loved this poem. Tender and beautiful and so sad. When one loses someone special at a young age the pain never really goes away. It's there all the time living in your head and it surfaces at the slightest. I get all these feelings from your lovely poem.

a very strong write up with a deep touch of pathos in it...you are a keen-observer, and such people feel life in various shades on their pulse!
