I Ate My Cake Poem by Woru Sulyman

I Ate My Cake

I ate my cake,
swallowed every bite.
The plate lies bare,
cold in the light.

Still I stare—
convincing my eyes:
a full slice waits,
self-told lies.

My mind rebuilds
what my hands destroyed—
the crumbs remember
what i can't reclaim.
