a beautiful poem dear Poetess. Treasure, goal, road, anthill and your reflections... then you come to what you are as a woman. Fire, free, fuel, love, life, light and the greatest of all you have the power to annihilate all evils. Full of ideas and images. thank you very much.

Before I read this, I must say, this is one of my favorite titles, I've written two I'am Woman poems. Now I must partake in yet another literary feast, excuse me...Such beautiful and true words. We must know that we are extremely powerful and stand at the right hand of the Lord who chose us to bring life into this world. We are phenomenal...Thank you for sharing this marvelous poem with us Soumita.....

This assertion of self worth is what is needed for women! When we doubt our own strength, the world will treat us as second rate! Enjoyed this powerfully assertive poem!

Rightly you described the stature of a Woman. She is not a commodity nor a wek and a soft mud. She is the creator epitomizing love. You may read my poem a Woman

The poem seems to have a context- a feminist discourse. Who is the addressee? A man of course? And he is silent all through. So much of assertion before a silenced victim? Lol. A suggestion: you may remove whenever in the expression whenever at your will. Given a chance I would edit he poem like this: I am fire I am free and I am fuel I am love I am life and I am light I can cherish I can nourish I am WOMAN I stand second to none.

Good ink Soumitra. The first stanza stands out..... Nothing can beat Woman...Women are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen and they should be treated with respect and dignity....

since you kindly asked me to be specific....after you, Soumita, read my previous comment....i will now be honest with you. i am a kidder, meaning i like to make jokes. some of them are actually funny. but sometimes i joke about something way too serious (?) to joke about. and i guess i should not have been more careful when commenting to someone who doesn't know me. even then i have gotten into trouble. i have reread the poem to refresh my memory and, to be honest, i am now scoring it very, very good....even though i do like rhymes and there are not very many. i forgive you! [that is a joke] being a man, i probably should object to the line: and can diminish your power BUT WAIT! .....if i read three lines at a time and read the following three as ONE sentence, then i can see that you also are supportive of the power that men have [i do have less than some men! ....it's probably been diminished by my present and three previous wives...i'm NOT joking! ]. I can cherish I can nourish and can diminish your power..................BUT WAIT, AGAIN! ! now, as i read those three lines again, i notice you say you can, NOT that you DO, nourish or cherish the power of men. darn! i sent this to MyPoemList, and it's not because i was feeling guilty. honest! ! ! thanks for sharing. bri :)
