This is almost an elaboration of the poem about YEARNING in a narrative format. There is no fulfillment even implied, the repetition of I AM WAITING emphasizes this will not be a poem of wish fulfillment. You are too truthful to let your poem fall into a sentimental trap. No, your poem is fiercely committed to desire, it will not settle for a substitute, its desire is expansive as in a mystical poem by Tagore but it doesn't have his composure at its heart. It is restless, anxious, impatient in the midst of its patient expectations. This is a poem of Character, that will not compromise its higher values. There will be no easy victory, perhaps no victory, only integrity.

Fantastic imagery and silent emotion emanating from this poem. An exquisite repository of waiting for your love, hoping and anticipating, yet knowing the disappointment in your heart she will never come again. Although you can still feel her presence she has gone beyond you. Very beautiful! Touches the heart, Amitava! Thank you for sharing it. RoseAnn

There is a beauty and joy in this waiting! Inspite of the tension it brings, hope the waiting doesn't go in vain! Beautiful description of the Earth waking up after its night long sleep!
