A garden locked up; blossoming vines
A spring enclosed, scarlet ribbon lips
A sealed fountain, twin fawns of a gazelle
Simply a beautiful rose; lined colorfully as butterfly.

The detailed account presented in “I am She” is very moving. It is prevalent in today’s world. Do you want to meet a Bombay filmmaker friend of mine for an interview and progress further to make your story more visible to the world in case you want to pursue further? Such unfortunate abuses from men have been felt by women from prehistoric times because there is a natural attraction between the two sexes due to differences in hormonal makeup. Since ancient times in India, this has been dealt in society by self-control practices thru codes of conduct, meditation and yoga. But it is still there in pockets. We need someone like Malala Yusuf to make a global movement against such abuses. Unquestionably, you have a brilliant poetic mind. Thank you for sharing your work, Queeny. I give you 10 -
Thank you for the read and insightful comment sir. I am pleased to see you rating my work and it would be my pleasure meeting your friend foe interview. Please drop me a mail regarding the details of the interview.
Which 'ism' would help; improve her status? Know not? A Strong and standard work Queeny Gona, it's your favor to share this with me. grateful really!
Great poem shouting out the wrongs of birth...disgusting how boys are preferred at birth in India and the cruelty that has been done to girls over the years...jail should be for families that treat the girls as a poor trophy...thanks for the I Am She...regards
My outcry is not only about discrimination during birth and pampering sir but also about how a woman is being treated in the society by men. In humanistic way of devastation, exploitation done to her.
You are a strong woman that you rely on yourself ;) I love the way how you depict the notion of EVE (woman)
A bundle of joy An innocent babe longing for a lullaby A perfume of love spreading fragrance wishing to explore my days of survival among foxes I am she- - - A very powerful poem expressing revolt against injustice, cruelty and atrocities meted out to women in society..The strong woman takes the resolution to fight the injustice and be the beginning of a revolution. Well done Queeny. Thanks for sharing.
Reading your poem moved me in your own way..Nice one Truly Pen is mightier than sword.... Thanks for sharing
I read over and over again to understand the content of your poem young lady.. I don't know the culture, the equality between men and women in your country.. All I know a woman should treated equal with men just like here in my country even in our government women ruled.. A woman's voice, should be heard..
Thank you mam for your assertive statement that A woman's voice should be heard! Over the globe woman should be respected and honored! This is my wish mam!
well written Queeny! .......................... picture of a tender and meek beauty source of love and joy still unwanted... crushed and torn by this male dominated society... it's not just man her enemy but her own kind too... who being an woman fails to understand herself and other women many contributed to change but ya it's true! until we start it from us none can make any change!
Thank you my dear friend for having read and given your sagacious comments on the read.
Wow! You have portrayed the stark naked truth of what women go through, the pure agony and heart wrenching pain that is left them by men who care nothing about the delicacy of a woman, nor the rights of a woman. A very intense and powerful poem of injustice and it's effects on a woman! It is so hard to believe this goes on in the 21st century, hasn't man progressed at all beyond animals? I am the oldest of 8, I have six sisters and one brother. I have 9 Granddaughters and one Grandson, so many girls in my family and they are all so beautiful and fantastic, so important. Without girls, life could not continue, there is nothing wrong with having daughters. My heart goes out to you Queeny, I pray for peace to come to you somehow in life. Thank you for sharing this poem specifically with me, I totally appreciate it! It is very good and powerful and will stand the test of time, letting everyone know the truths of what is happening even today. Thank you, RoseAnn
Very true dear mam, Until and unless women is treated equal to men and a daughter as a precious gift from God to be loved and honored then only can this plight ends mam. I was moved by various incidents like serial gang rapes, molestation, dowry & harassment that happened through out India and around the globe; I penned this piece of work mam!
Queeny this is a powerful poem and it must search the conscience of all readers, no matter what their cultural backgrounds, especially the male readers like myself, and we must all ask ourselves are we doing enough to promote the rights of women. If not we must try to do more, and in some parts of the world much more given the plight of women across the world. It is a very moving well composed poem.
Thank you so much sir for your insightful comment on the read. Well said by you that realization by each men n women will definitely pivot towards equality!
beautiful, crude truth in poetic words.......the saga of woman.........a perfect feminine apathy...wonderful
Four of my six children are girls (See my poem: It's a girl) Nothing has brought a larger sense of the beauty, dignity and importance of the better gender than having daughters. This is a magnificent poem, Queeny. You are She! Thanks for sharing. Peace
: | A lump came up into throat... And agony took place... One of the best poems I have ever read in my life... Kudos :) M greatful to know you :)
I thank from the bottom of my heart for having given your fair comments on the read and having picked it as your best poems that you have ever read!
This poem narrates the state of woman in Indian context. But the fact is, it is the same anywhere.
