I Am Not Recognised Poem by Mbalentle Mdange

I Am Not Recognised

Rating: 5.0

With their little stunts and chants,
You call them heroes
Peace in our land, they advocate
Oh, you give them Nobel Peace Prizes
But I, I died for peace
Yet I am not recognised

Red and white
Candle-lit dinners and wine
Rose petals from the doorway
You celebrate Saint Valentine
(How romantic!)
But I, I died for love
Yet I am not recognised

The best years in Medical school
Private practices with successful operations
Correct dosages and prescriptions
Oh, in your eyes, they are the best doctors in town
But I, I died for your healing
Yet I am not recognised

They tell you happiness is a four-letter word
But I have news for you
Happiness is a five-letter word
J.E.S.U.S.
You know I, I died for your happiness
Yet I am not recognised
But father, forgive them; for they know not what they do

You know i am an ardent lover of the crucified Jesus. I love Jesus more than my life. You wrote a wonderful poem in praise for him. tony
