For the parenthetical invite, i must say the poem focuses on uniqueness and the individual features everyman is endowed with, so i think that the killing of buddha is not any controversial phrase, rather it is a symbol for the recognition of one's own self, a kind of lustration of soul, an illumination of mind, not by any external source of inspiration but by some internal channels...

We call them 'auto suggestions' when our minds escalate and cry for equations unknown. In the galaxy of all the philosophers with religious bend of thinking, the Buddha is perhaps the Venus. thank you for your comment, this is not killing Buddha, man, it has different connotation and meaning, this poem is bout many things one is to preserve uniqueness, so one section of Buddhists says that ''if you come across a Buddha, kill him '' in the sense, let not Buddha become your ideal and start imitating him and destroy your uniqueness....

We all seem to accept the fact that some thing is forcing us but knowing it beyond is as illusive and frustrating as quiting smoking. Still some overcome the barrier. Being here and not worrying about is a good perspective. Just don't think of killing Buddha or any body else!
