I Am Excited For This Day Poem by Mystic Qalandar

I Am Excited For This Day

I am excited for this Day—
Rather, enraptured for that Hour,
When the whisper of "Alastu birabbikum" —
Am I not your Lord? —
Resounded through the chambers of my being,
Clothing me in the radiance of nearness.

Not for the phantoms of illusion,
Nor the fleeting lights that beguile the senses,
But for that Eternal Covenant,
Inscribed upon the Tablet of the Heart,
Before which the spirits bowed in awe and affirmation.

I am excited for this Day—
Like a secret unveiled from the treasury of silence,
For that First Proclamation
Which poured from the lips of the Lord,
Becoming the call to prayer
Within the sanctuary of my innermost soul.

It is an unending melody,
Ever recalling the proximity of Qaba Qawsayn—
the distance of two bows—
When I was not veiled from the Mirror of Perfection,
When the Breath of Reality
Moved in rhythm with my very own breath.

I am excited for this Day,
For these ecstasies are mine—
Wrapped in the fragrance
That drifts from Primordial Paradise,
Watering the green meadows of the heart.

Though veils may rise upon the path,
My consciousness is no gift bestowed by time,
But the primordial inheritance,
Illumined within my essence since before the before.

And though the burdens of this earth weigh heavy,
I do not dwell in the shadow of a mirage.
I breathe the light of Divine effulgence,
Where annihilation unveils permanence,
And permanence is perfumed
With the fragrance of annihilation.
