I Am Drunk On Poetry Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Am Drunk On Poetry

I am drunk on poetry tonight
After a few glasses of gin
I'm reminded of Baudelaire
I'm sad. My wife is gone
She left me without good bread
Without a kiss. I don't know what to do.

Let me get drunk on poetry
After several glasses of wine
I'm sad and I don't know what to do
I'm dying in verve on the rug
Where I'm in pain like a poor dog
Now, I understand Baudelaire.

Life is not easy, it's a dream
I'm sad. My wife left me
I take my pen to write
What I feel. Without kissing me
Without flashing a little smile
Remorse haunts me without respite.

Let me get drunk on poetry
I'm sad and I don't know what to do
Now, I understand Baudelaire
It's a nightmare that troubles my life
Regrets haunt me without respite
Life is unpredictable like a dream.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to Charles Baudelaire.
