I Am A Liar Poem by Namita Rani Panda

I Am A Liar

I became a liar
when instead of telling "I love you"
I told, "I hate you"
and with a heavy heart built my castle with a stranger
chosen by my most trusted family members.

I turned into a first rate liar
when instead of telling, "I too am dead tired doing chores"
I said with a broad smile "I am ever ready to absorb your
tiredness"
so that he can rise active and fresh
to greet me with his tight embrace as his obedient empress.

I am now a renowned lie manufacturer,
Instead of telling "I too wish to go out of the four walls"
I say, "I love to stay back and always on my toes to attend to
your calls",
I go on killing my wishes to fulfill their silly demands,
I see my dream in them wearing a crown of false admiration.

I am now a world class brand liar,
I go on weaving lies one after another
Though I proudly announce myself as an obedient daughter,
a faithful life partner
and a loving and successful mother
