I Am A Ham, I Am Poem by Spock the Vegan

I Am A Ham, I Am

I am a ham, a ham I am
I do not eat green cheese or spam

I put antennas way up high
But not as high as airplanes fly

I don't have a ham rig in my car
I don't have the lowest S.W.R.
My antennas don't take a whole hectare
I don't need to cheat with the S.D.R.

I don't do contests for awards
I don't mail lots of Q.S.L. cards
My radio work is not a race
I don't work satellites in space

I don't go to every hamfest
My radio is not the best
I've never talked to the Soviets
But I do get on emergency nets

Learning new things is fun for me
But it's nap time now, so let me be

A very fun poem! I don't blame you for not eating green cheese or Spam. I also do not know what all the initials stand for, but it's fun anyway and I can tell that you enjoy what you are doing. Best of all, I can relate to the nap time... :)

Oh what an amusing depiction! . It is really a beautiful poem with rhyming words. The last two lines are most impressive. Enjoyed with attractive photo provided. Thanks for sharing.

I love it! Very well done and interesting as well. I don't understand all the lingo, but it's still a fun poem to read.

When I was young, a neighbor had a ham radio station. I still recall the call sign: WB9GIT, Whiskey Bravo Nine, Golf India Tango. CQ and standing by. : -) I got some postcards from operators across the globe. His tower was about 90 feet tall. One summer I climbed to the top and could see Chicago from 30 miles away.
