Waken, lords and ladies gay,
On the mountain dawns the day;
All the jolly chase is here
With hawk and horse and hunting-spear,

Very well crafted song full of nature aspects and a touch of spirituality in the morn makes this poem so amazing 10+++
Waken, lords and ladies gay, To the greenwood....beautiful poem and songs on the hunting life of the kings and delightful ladies The poem crafted this hunting song very aptly with the poetic words and so delightful rhyming which is really pleasure to read; here the life of hunter in the greenwood and for the life there some beautiful ladies companionship in hunting is very remarkable to enjoy the life.
'Merrily, merrily mingle they Waken, lords and ladies gay' - well described, easy to understand, quotable lines.
Beautuful hunting song, suitable for those days, now-adays it's obsolete, I think. Thinking of the animal Party in my country, but our Royal Family still hunts, I know. Congratulations on the choice of Poem Hunter and Team, the best choice ever for the great poet Sir Walter Scott
Waken, lords and ladies gay, To the greenwood haste away; We can show you where he lies, Fleet of foot and tall of size; We can show the marks he made very nice poem. tony
what the **** is this i wanted the details of it and rhyme scheme and similie and metaphor but this is pul****
A beautiful hunting sport preparatory poem for awakening lords and ladies to make haste to go to forest for hunting game. A well deserved classic of the day
Hawks are whistling, horns are knelling, Merrily, merrily mingle they Waken, lords and ladies gay....fine poem
The joy of hunting time by lords and ladies is wonderfully depicted Poet Sir Walter Scott! Thanks for sharing this poem here!
A lovely poem with beautiful rhythm, lovely, despite the fact that it is dealing with hunting, but during those days hunting was not seen the way it is today.
The poem provides a vivid description of the majestic grandeur and fun that went with the sport of seasonal hunting. To animal lovers, the poem may well appear unpalatable. A special mention for the excellent rhyme and rhythm is well deserved.
It lacks any thought or feeling for the hunted quarry and the rhyme and rhythm doesn't help to assuage that lack
Hunting the earlier sport of the elite and killing wild animals. They rhyme of poetry is so brilliant.
Time, stern huntsman! who can balk, Staunch as hound and fleet as hawk: Think of this, and rise with day, Gentle lords and ladies gay! a very good poem.. tony
TWO; but the poet created most beautiful end rhymes here, this habit in poems is also from that obsolete time, I reckon. Congratulations for being chosen as the Classic Poem Of The Day, for the family and inheritants of SWS. A best portrayal about the Royal hunting season, we can follow this step by step, obviously clearest told.
ONE: Hunting season, Lords and Ladies and the poet SIR Walter Scott, are all each other´s inspirations. In these times, during hunting season, many animals had to hunted, then killed. A Royal busy doing, this was in the past, nowadays it still exists nowadays, but that goes unrhymed with the Animal Party in my country,
The song was actually really really good even my younger and my baby sister liked it a lot
