Humanity is dead
An auto rickshaw ran away hitting
A pedestrian who was walking
By the side of road in midnight.
A passersby rushed towards him
Not to help him but to pick victim's wallet.
He moaned and cried for help and pity.
The victim struggled for his life
For more than half an hour.
No one neither informed to police
Nor drove him to hospital.
So many passersby and cars passed
Through the place where accident occurred.
No one felt a sense of responsibility
Empathy and mercy for a dying life.
He might have survived if he were
Drove to hospital in time.
Alas ! He breathed last breath
Expecting morality to revive for him.
Humanity itself betrayed him and left to die.
This incident reveals bitter reality
We all are here for own sake
We live just for our own personal gain
We do wear mask of compassion
Just to inflict meaning of kindness.
Where is glory of being human !
We feel comfort to blame Almighty
For our suffering and disaster.
What about our own selfishness
And tendency of avoiding responsibility.
Social norms and ethical values
Limited only inside page of wisdom books.
Indeed, we all talk about awareness
We are only aware of own material gain
Feel discomfort to raise voice against
Atrocity, genocide and abortion.
No time for love and sympathy
But manage time satisfy our lust
And feel glorious to hurt and hate
Someone's feeling and sentiment.

A well thought out poem, amazingly written. IF I may say, life is like a medal, it has constantly two sides. This poem describes one side of that medal, how about the other side? As I said an amazing poem, well worded, but one sided. There are enough occurrences that show the other way round. Believe me, there have been enough victims who are rescued in time and brought instantly to the ER. Your poem is an excellent one. I have enjoyed very much. Thank you for sharing.
