'today ttere are 15000 people as shields for 700 of militants in srilanka the srilankan military is advancing forward killing them...unarmed untrained killed both the fighter and the fought are killing the cause along... whoever at fault 'THE CAUSE HAS BEEN KILLED BY BOTH' ' What can i say here other than my tears. Thanks for sharing with me. Good poem
well said. But now the question is what are we as poets going to do for those innocent people
Well, terrorists have always resorted to cowardly and underhanded tactics against a superior enemy, samanyan. Sadly, they have no nobility or scruples, and will kill anyone, man, woman, or child, or even a compadre, to advance what they perceive as their cause. They do not honor the rules of war, and seem to think the Geneva Convention refers to a gathering of rich bankers rather than the proper way to treat prisoners and hostages. You fine poem dileneates this all very well. Carl.
a very interesting...and different poem.... thought provoking. thank you very much.
In Viet Nam sometimes people were shields. BUT, since Cain Slew Abel it has only grown.
rich in historical incidents add merits to the poem. striking. shan
An experience unwanted the most...people dislike the most...while reading several times about the same... something is haunting the remaining souls to live dead...let us all hope for the betterment...you've clearly brought out with examples of Marudu brothers even...well done
Man is trying to build up the bond of trust on the foundation of distrust, so this goes on. A well composed poem. Thank you for sharing it. CP
Mans greatest failing is his inability to stop going to war. Violence only begats more violence and even more lives are lost. Strong message.
A very strong message conveyed here. But I fear that we will never see the end of war, in our lifetime. Tragic words, Samanyan. Kind regards, Sandra
a strong depiction of the human tragedy in Sri Lanka...still, Samanyan, though the subject is powerful the lines lack that poetic touch...
Brought out the spice of chaos in the struggles of reason and cause
Brilliant Sam, written with gold, you've managed to express a global topic that very much close to the hearts of many.....great penning my friend 10+++
Caught between the Sea and the Devil! The fire you ignite in my heart Lakshminarayan, is a fire which is smoldering in me as embers. Every man must feel ashamed to know such crime is being perpetuted against another innocent human being who is listed as caught in between crossfire. The innocent who die are children, mothers, elderly too no mercy for anyone as each person is only regarded as a peice of armour to shield oneself from the enemy! Lets us strive and rise to sing of peace and pray make the clamour of war, discord, terrorism to cease once for all. Heartfelt the poem and so are all our sighs! Angel.
