How Well We Slept Poem by Susan Lacovara

How Well We Slept

How well we slept,
my belly to your back
Alone in the slumber of two
Tangled up
into one

My chin,
resting over your shoulder
Honey breath, pressed upon your neck

My hands fumble from under the covers
to discover the length of your back
I come home to the curve of your spine
