How Many More Years? (November 15th,2020) Poem by DM W

How Many More Years? (November 15th,2020)

Rating: 5.0

How many more years before the wintry silence
Of my life begins? It's now mid autumn and I
Can already perceive tainted, rusted gold amidst
The scattered leaves. O how many more years before
The senses slow and the warm blood ceases to flow
As freely as untamed birds in late summer skies?
How many more years before the flesh is wrinkled
To death; when grey 'wisdom' takes over completely
As vital experience dies. How many years
Before the last sun sets over my day's dreaming.

it's a good question one which we never really know the answer to. Maybe one we're not meant to know. A poem that raises more questions than answers in the intriguing great scheme of things. Very Blade Runner, a well written what makes us human movie and so is your poem Dominic. Five longevity stars and I'll through in The Fountain Of Youth and The Holy Grail too, for good measure. Hope that helps and I wish you well.
