Shoots his arrow heedless!
On some, it cuts through the heart
On some others, it only scrapes through

And some throw themselves into the oncoming arrow....either the greatest decision, or a death like no other! Terrific poem, Valsa. This one goes to myfavourites.

The opening stanza hits the mark, some fall head long into love, some just bob, and some don't get a mark. Yet all love that sizzles eventually fizzles. Even a flower must loose its luster. Great tome, many a youthful fool should read this and heed these words they would learn a thing or two. But its for youth to be fools.

Life is love, how it stated nobody knows, but it ends with death, we all know. Again waht after death is just a blind belief.

Some relationships are better if they never happened. However, some are the best things that can happen to us. I had been in both situations, thankfully the latter came after the former. A beautiful poem ma'am. I sometimes wish love wasn't as complicated as it is, but then, perhaps that is its beauty. Thanks for sharing: -)

Imagine if the former had come after the latter, how miserable life would have been! You are lucky that now you happen to be in a love zone where you feel most comfortable! Let it be so till the end! Thank you for your witty observations.... Red Soul!

Some love affairs should never ever begin- -the trick is knowing which should be run away from before it begins. An elegant and powerful poem about love and that which masquerades as love. 10++++++ even though you made me cry

I agree with Glen. The sparkle can be renewed. But your poem is true in most circumstances and a very well written piece it is.

Sadly this happens in most cases. Falling in and out of love is a routine thing. Beautifully illustrated.

hey, valsa! i'd been on vacation with my wife for twenty-three days until late last thursday night. the title of this poem interested me for what is more important than love. a main reason i like vacations is it rekindles my infatuation with my wife. away from the daily stuff and with time to really experience her, i find my appreciation renewed. it's true infatuation wanes. and routine numbs. but love can be rekindled. wishing the best to you always, glen

Infatuation ends and so does love at one point of time if not reciprocated. Loved reading every bit of it. Now my heart is tickling my senses to write something on these lines.

The infatuation of being IN love tends indeed not to last. Fables and stories end with happiness ever after, but reality requires the sincere lovers, to replace the infatuation with something called Love (with capital without the 'in') . No matter how nice the fables sound, somehow they instill a damaging belief in our youths. In real life, infatuation is transient. Excellent and thought provoking poem.

Thus love starts differently In varying intensity But it ends in a familiar way In the same intensity........so true. A beautiful poem with nice theme related to love and infatuation has been nicely and touchingly presented. I appreciate this poem.

On a less romantic note, infatuation, or romantic love, it could be nothing but a nature's way of keeping perpetuation of species; and yet, on a spiritual level, we feel that it is more than that! Love this poem!

I understand the grades of love and why each is so different. I hope the end is not always boredom.

All is well that ends well but all is not unwell if it ends unwell. Love leaves behind sweet memories even if it ends unwell. Valsa George comes back with a lovely poem.

Great poem Valsa. Each line so well written. The story of these cupid arrows has such a mysterious beginning and end. We could cry, laugh, joke or ponder on its never ending saga.

Cupid is a clever archer! Those hit by the arrow will surprise us with their strange behavior! From a passionate lover he may sometimes turn into a love lorn or melancholy stricken mental crack! Thank you Savita!

A wonderful evaluation of how infatuation starts with passion and dies a natural death with boredom. Poor Cupid-the great archer! I loved this poem of yours Valsa for its choice of words and style. A full score dear friend.10+

Accurate assessment! - in one style or another, romantic love commonly extinguishes itself.

Your poem addresses a different tale of love…the sour taste lingers the boredom persists! May be thorns of love weighs more than roses! I am not sure, if my interpretation is right! (10)

True love in its most purified form will stay for ever as it springs from the heart! But love between a man and woman that is born of an instantaneous bodily attraction can die out soon paving way for the initial thrill to a sense of boredom and sour taste! Thanks for your in depth analysis of the poem, Dillip!

Cupid starts drawing his bow to inspire romantic love! Probably the last two stanzas speak painful end of love (Where Cupid has missed the target!) There can be possibility of betrayal in love for which Shakespeare didn’t take this into the fold of love and deliberately penned a poem ‘True love’ where he said the intensity of true love can only be felt but surely can’t be measured! Doesn’t matter how it starts and how it ends!
