How Fast Things Change Poem by Reina Puja

How Fast Things Change

Yesterday, we laughed, shared joy untold,
Today, we're silent, our phones we hold.

Yesterday, friends filled my space so tight,
Today, I feel I'm alone in the night.

Yesterday, my crush was here so near,
Today, it feels like they'll never appear.

Yesterday, I joined a project's spark,
Today, I'm left in the shadow, the dark.

Yesterday, my texts brought smiles so sweet,
Today, they're ignored, left incomplete.

Yesterday, I didn't care at all,
Today, I feel like I've hit a wall.

Yesterday, they sought my gaze, my time,
Today, their attention feels like a climb.

Yesterday, I drifted, just went along,
Today, I must decide right from wrong.

How fast things change, thoughts race, collide,
A storm of emotions I try to hide.

How fast things change, smiles fake the pain,
A longing for love, like flowers in rain.

How fast things change, I crave their touch,
A yearning for care, for warmth so much.
