Such a beautiful poem of love and loss in life. We cannot always fill what we lost but we can be grateful for what we have. Nicely done Practicing Poetess!
Thank you, Aqua Flower! If anyone understands love & loss, we surely do- - - But love never runs out, and there is an endless supply of it. The heart renews itself. And it is possible to love many times, over & over again. If at first you don't succeed... Try again! (Never lose hope.)
Though you didn't get the one you loved..you have learnt to.love what you got! That's the practical and ideal thing! One can never be a substitute for another, but can indeed fill the vacuum created! So love him with all your heart! A sweet poem where you voice your genuine sentiments!
Thanks so much, Valsa. This poem is part true, part fiction. I didn't get the one I loved (My fiance' died of cancer) , But I'm still waiting on the one who'll fill the vacuum created by the loss. And, yes, I WILL love him with all my heart, whenever he arrives, wherever he is. My poetry reflects different phases of my life, and is often a blend of fact and fiction. I recall how I felt, or I imagine how I might feel.
an excellent write and it reminds me of the song I wrote about losing a spouse called end of my days
Thank you, Louis, for the compliment. I'd be willing to bet, though, that it wasn't the end of your days, although at the time, it may have felt that way. As I wrote in an earlier comment, life renews itself, and we continue on. As obviously you have, because you're still here! :)
