when as tender buds your phrases bloom (speechless)
The poem is good, very expressive. The poet is possessive about a piece of land that is actually burning due to political reasons. These are great sentiments. I personaly do not believe in any bounderies, any division of the globe into states on the basis of any pretext.
First of all I completely agree with Arkay Dass and Ramesh Rai and both views are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Secondly, I feel in todays world of hatred freedom of speech is over emphasized. Before the freedom to speak your mind or express ones creativity the foremost point should be whether we are hurting the sentiments of another human. Maybe this was not a factor 500 years ago but today one must certainly take ccare about not hurting ananother person even if tthis aamounts to ssuppressing ones creativity. Personally i do not think MFHussain was wrong in painting Hindu deities naked, but it was avoidable. Similarly 'Kashmir' may be be fitting but 'India' ' was avoidable. Finally regarding the quality of writing, it is excelent but i have read better works by Shahzia.
i don't see why a purely literary piece should rake up a controversy that we should leave to politicians... yes, as dr.sadat n shr arkay das have stated ms shahzia's is a unique contribution to the ph in terms of re-presenting a poet to the general readers n other poets... let's make love not war!
Due to sudden demise of Mehendi Hasan, entire India wept. similarly on demise of Md. Rafi, the entire Pakistan would have wept. I love the entire world wish for total abolition of war. Yes, i have war against poverty, I have war against destitute, I have war against illiteracy. I swear to find out the rays of wisdom when the humanity can gaze beyond the stars and planets.. Certainly, i honor your feelings and beauty in your poem. But I wish an end of War from this world. May God bless you with love, peace and prosperity in your life. Regards.
yes saadat, i agree fully about what you have said on shazia as a poetess and literary critic.. she is simply amazing in her literary talent.my warm regards to you and shazia..thanx
@ Arkay Dass a befitting tribute sir i couldn't agree more..... poet shazia has made a quantum difference in the way many of us interact here on PH. the poet has made a tangible contribution and showered positive influence on this site for many like me. i am thankful to her for her meritorious contributions whether in poetic form or in critical analysis of our writings bravo dear poet...GOD speed. sat
this is a beauty of a poem, the poem abounds with such beautiful feelings of love, affection and care, , the title of the poem speaks loud and clear as to how the poet has devised various ways and methods to shower her tenderest feelings. from mythical reference to interplay of seasons, the bounty of nature and her all benign agencies are used as vehicles of the poet's basic emotion in the poem, it is said that everything is fair in love and war, and here is a poem where there is both love and war, , and it is composed in all fairness, , kashmir wih all its natural beauty is juxtaposed with the barren desert, i see one reader has completely missed out the fact that kashmir here is a metaphor, it symbolises an abode of peace and greenery, am reminded of the famous couplet by the Moghul emperor who said 'Gar firdaus ae baruhe zamin ast Hamin astu hamin astu hamin ast' [ if there is heaven on earth it is here, it is here, it is here] thanx If there is heaven on earth it is here, it is here it is here.
an absolutely beautiful creation.....about that a bit later.. rt now i am taken up with a moron...who hardly if understands poetry or its intricate beauty.... Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi(6/12/2012 8: 42: 00 AM) Shahzia Batool, can have your dream, at the door of your whim, not in your life time, not in the life time of your whole population, wage the war as it is done, our sons are waiting, to protect their mother Kashmir. phew......how obtuse can one get! ! ! for your own sake i hope you remove yer discordant post.....please! ! !
''I leave my house-wife's cares, '' a true to heart poem, your personal experience, feelings and the thought at the dawn of writing captured well.........
I do not find myself anywhere near to put a remark with a dropp like knowing of mine about poetry in front of this structure of beauty..I am just amazed, moved and enlightened to read this piece and have done so many times since I first read it...I bow to your genius that drives the readers to a level from where we feel empty of any belonging that shall be enough to thank you....regards
A poem of love, dedication and commitment. Amazing images. Here the poet uses Kahmir (last verse) as the object of her love and affection. Well constructed.

Powerful, deep and immaculate. A most moving poem. Let peace and love, guide you and all peoples of the world.
Shahzia Batool, can have your dream, at the door of your whim, not in your life time, not in the life time of your whole population, wage the war as it is done, our sons are waiting, to protect their mother Kashmir.
Beautiful poem. Spectacular imagery. The flow of thought almost rendering Shakespeare's...if music be the food of love...play on amidst a rich abundance of nature.
it expresses poet's passion for something or someone sublime beyond everything........may springs come n calm you, morning sunrays warm you stars come down n play with you joys do enter tip-toe in your world...and wishes as told by the above lines..................
