People see you as a weapon

Black skin first fought with peace.
Martin Luther King was a leader.
Got assassinated.
If you look at his gravestone, all you will see is unfulfilled freedom.

Black skin next fought with force.
Malcolm X was a leader.
He shouted aloud.
Racism is deaf to change.
so he got assassinated.
If you look at his gravestone, all you will see is unfulfilled freedom.

Black skin fights today with defiance.
Colin Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter are leaders.
So far Colin Kaepernick is trying to silence.
So far Black lives matter has not been stopped

My hope is these modern leaders do not die.
I do not want to see freedom trapped in gravestones
I want to see it in the eyes of black people.
All black people have wanted is freedom.
But racism is blind and deaf.
It never listened to black skin.
