Hot Stove Toucher Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Hot Stove Toucher

To teach a child,
Not to repeatedly touch...
Or turn a stove on,
With a doing to heat it up.
It is not the child,
In need to learn the lesson.
That child already knows,
How and who to ignore...
To continue what is done,
Until the house...
And the entire neighborhood,
Burns down to the ground.
With early approval given.
Done to dismiss and allow,
That child to grow up...
Loving the attention sought,
Destruction brings!
