Hoping She'll Return Poem by Ray Hansell

Hoping She'll Return

I was sad to hear
That she went away
I sit each night
I pace in the day

Where did she go?
Why did she go?
Will she be back?
No one seems to know

She was so young
She had it all
Now I sit and wait
Just hoping she'll call

Maybe she left
For a brand new start
Little did she know
When she left she took my heart

I'll never forget
The joy she brought
It was only love
That she ever sought

She always said
One day she'd go
Here whereabouts
We may never know

I hope she's safe
In God's care
My only wish is that
I could be there
