Hopeless Love. Poem by MIRAK Montiel

Hopeless Love.

Hopeless Love

Your love is a sky I can't reach—
only admire,
like the blush of a beautiful dawn.
Echoes of voices tell me
I need to let you go—
that I came in the wrong season
of your heart.

Maybe what I'm feeling
is just passing by,
like clouds
and this storm—
this cold winter rain—
was never meant
to stay.

So I write
broken pieces of my heart
on pages
made of hopeless lyrics.
I know you can't
love me into the rest
of my life.

So tonight,
I'll let you go—
like I should've
a long time ago.
