Hope Is My Friend Poem by Eva Mae Witt

Hope Is My Friend

Hope Is My Friend

Hope is like having a fine feathered friend
to have and to hold and to talk on endlessly
A fine feathered friend will stay with you
till the end of time and then some more

Hope can become the better part of you
in thickness and in the thin for days on end
even into the darkness, till you talk and talk
and you hear your friend say your name

As if it were embedded into your feathered,
winged friend
till he or she becomes the better part of you
I do know my friend Mel, calls my name
when I walk in the door, I can tell she loves me

for she keeps singing my favorite song
"All I Really Want To Do, " by Bob Dylan
Hope is my fine feathered friend cause
she sings when I am down and also wearing a frown

Hope is like having a fine feathered friend
to have and to hold and to talk on endlessly
A fine feathered friend will stay with you
till the end of time and then some more.

My Parrot is truly my best friend, I called her Mel.
I usually take her with me whenever I go anywhere
