Hood In The Streets Poem by james watkin

Hood In The Streets

Arrests his attention
With tear, unlikeliest!
This incorrigible escapee
Of responsibility.

Soft-faced, for girl-child.
His own daughter, if fate
By another way, a word
Less hatefully absurd

Had motivated his will.
So let me warn you then.
Take a chance on love, to win
O'er roaming boar within.
