Homelessness Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Homelessness

Rating: 5.0

In the car, I watched a homeless man
Pushing a shopping cart with a rebellious wheel
He had a pointy beard that was
Showing his shoeless toes
While he slowly walked across the parking lot
His ripped cowboy hat blew off
But he caught it in mid-air on the first try
And held it on his matted hair for dear life
As he went across to the sidewalk
He turned to me and said:
"Hey, what's yer looking at? "
