i had to click on three poems before this one today to find one i had not already commented on. :) elena, a 'super' poem. a captivating story, told succinctly [thanks for the opportunity to use that word, succinctly]. i liked how you used 'his, list, is'; it served to emphasize list.....how sad OR freeing? if this were in the contest i would give it an excellent. it is understandable that the 'speaker' would encourage him to stay (i guess) , but unfortunately by the time one says what he initially said, I can't; home is where the heartache is, it is often too late to save the situation. at least the extra three months can supply a useful period of transition....if no one is killed. thanks for sharing. to MyPoemList! :) bri

There is every comfort in the western world other than a peaceful home. why can't people make life better? Nice expression.

Wow! What a superb poem this is! 10/10. He took everything that was once his. The children and I didn’t make the list, And now, home is really where the heartache is. You have painted the event so beautifully that the readers can feel the heartache. The dualities of perception very nicely portrayed in the poem.
