Holy Romance Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Holy Romance

Could you ever forget the cool breeze
And the fluttering flowers
That vied with the birds in the expanse
Proclaiming the blessed togetherness
Of you, my darling and myself, in all naked intimacy
The ever loving Lord recommended the carefree birds
As a model for humans in search for bliss
You surrendered yourself in love bounteous
I responded mightily in ever mounting ecstasy
The creator drove out Adam & Eve sans mercy
As they dared share an apple, sweet impassionate forgetfulness
Later the Savior emerged in the high romance of the heavens
And the Earth fertile in the person of Holy Virgins, all readiness
