The first stanza was the richest for me, a cave in Israel witnessed a virgin birth, strange that the angels of heaven should celebrate a birth in a cave, which I like so many others was compelled to visit. As I visited also the two caves in Nazareth, the homes of Joseph and Mary, before the birth in Bethlehem and escape into Egypt and upon their return years later. So much history centered upon a single religious site, as other religions centre their beliefs upon similar locations of importance to them.
