Holy Like The Ganges Water Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

Holy Like The Ganges Water

'I was a part and parcel of their business.
For them I sold my artery, bone and flesh-
I was being used like an AIDS guinea pig:
my hubby's corrupted head was always covered with a wig;
my in-laws were like 'Satan of Bible'...
To satisfy them I chose to stay in hell!
Then my small daughter became their prey!
I fought it out, separated, went far away...
Now cool sea breeze makes our deserted hearts joyful-
I have joined as a teacher, my daughter reads in school'.

'I can understand your agony.
I do confess my guilt, now I can clearly see.
From all angles one should judge each matter.
You are holy like the Ganges water'.
