Hissing At A Sleeping Cat (Limerick) Poem by Belle Wassermeister

Hissing At A Sleeping Cat (Limerick)

Rating: 5.0

Wes Vogler's hissed at a sleeping cat.
I'd never try a stunt like that.
He might leap in the air
and land in my hair
and make me wish I'd worn my hat!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I left a comment on one of Wes Vogler's poems. In his reply to my comment, he asked if I had ever hissed at a sleeping cat. I have not, but it got me to thinking. What would happen if you did?
You would have to be quite close for the hiss to be effective, and you might end up with scratches all over your face!

Hmmmmmm...
In choosing topics for this poem, I got to thinking again. If someone tried to make a trophy featuring the rear end of a cat, would that be a catastrophe?

Thanks, Wes, for the idea for this poem!

Hey, everybody! You should go to Wes Vogler's page and read his fantastic comic strip featuring Oogie the cave man!
