His Burial Poem by Amar Agarwala

His Burial

Make his bed he needs to sleep,
Undisturbed and in peace,
Brown sheets should be washed and clean
Laid out without any crease.

Take care to check the bedspread
Those pillows do not ignore,
For he'll sleep much longer now
Than he has ever before.

Ensure no mellow sunshine,
Sweet birdsong nor worldly din,
Stirs him from his slumber deep
Distressing his rest within.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
WHEN FRIEND'S DEPART

Losing good friends is never easy, more so when they pass away.I have penned down this poetry in memory of a great friend, who always stood beside me like a pillar of strength and support. I've also been inspired by a poetry of Emily Dickinson, titled - Country Burial.
