But I detest this mental hiatus This numbing languorousness This sickening emotional torpor! Am I becoming a log over the moving currents? .........so touching and impressive. A beautiful poem shared.

What a deep thinking, reflective poem. The calmness that comes from no longing swinging between highs and lows can be seen as something to embrace. Being a 'log over moving currents' is the kind of imagery that can help people worry less about things and reminds me of a cartoon I asked Swapan Debnath to draw, of a man floating on a raft just letting life happen. You may not feel you soar high but in the eyes of others like myself you're an eagle above the clouds.

Where would we be with out life's ups and downs? What would we write about? A well written poem. Hopefully your mind is just resting for the next of life's ups and downs.

loved every line in this poem, wat a punch! ! ! simply superb! Like a placid lake with no ripples Like a sponge with water squeezed out Like a kite refusing to soar high Am I becoming a log over the moving currents?

You have acquired the mental maturity to withstand any storm and to moderate the life's events. This is no mean achievement. Since you are an excellent poet, I am sure this placid-ness of heart has enhanced your sensitivity and given you the sensibility to view things with equanimity.

I think that is maturity which comes with age and you are unnecessarily concerned about it. That you are reacting to it (last stanza) shows that you haven't lost your sensitivity! A very descriptive poem of a mental state. Well done. (10)

After years of moving with a certain routing a natural gap forms and some fundamental questions arise. It is natural to reach state of emptiness. Maybe that state of emptiness is the right opportunity to fill it with desired spirit. Thank you for a beautiful poem about life.
