I hesitated to comment on your work, because, after all, I am your mom, and it may appear I am partial to you...ah, what the heck, I AM! You are so dear to me, but this poem makes me think that you may be all grown up now, Yes? ? ? It is beautiful, a soul-serching piece, and I love it...and you. Scarlett
I think you've read my mind as well...Keep writing, I will be reading :)
When did you read my mind? - Mine, and that of so many others, for sure. Otherwise put; this is something so many will relate to, subject-wise. In respect of the flow and the penning generally, it is absolutely superb. I want more. t x
If this is a taste of thing to come, I look forward to you future pieces. Regards, Ian
Searching bibliography of the true self, Realization that if letting go a new search begins, Its depth rises.

Whistle gal keep writing this is a poem that has depth of many levels.
One tiny observation, should the word 'now' in the last line in this stanza be 'nor'? She looks inside herself As he tells her, 'I will never control you, ' And thinks to herself, 'Now I will let you.'
Nice thought provoking poem, well constructed and a very good write indeed. Well done. Love Ernestine XXX

You are clearly a poet and we welcome you. Now let us see more. The simplicity in this one belies the deepness of your thinking and your understanding of human nature. I liked it. Raynette
Self realization - simply put. Continue to explore your voice. avr
I love the way you manage to play two parts at once: the observer and the observed, the subject and the object. It shows that you have a wonderful analytical nature, combined with an artistic talent. Welcome to PH! Warmly, Julia
Welcome to Poem Hunter, daughter of Scarlett Bird. Keep writing, it'll get easier and more enjoyable. Best wishes, Jerry
Sorry I'm late with this comment, but I've been sleeping with the television on again! Welcome to PH W-Gal, and from this opener, I think we are in for a few Treats! Danny
'She's Got A Way' or several ways about her. 'She's Always A Woman' and allow me to 'Tell Her About It.' But 'Don't Ask Me Why' because for 'The Longest Time, ' I had been in a 'New York State Of Mind, ' and when all is said and done, 'You May Be Right.' Okay, I'm running out of Mr. Joel's song titles, so whistle gal, you ain't whistling Dixie with this introspective rendition. 'To thine own self be true.' to quote another William of much greater magnitude. I welcome you to the world of PoemHunter, such as it is; however, 'It's Still Rock And Roll To Me.' Good luck in all your future writing endeavours. Respectfully, Greg XXO
I love this, it's very clever but also deep. I like how you give over yourself finally to this person who you know will take great care of you. It's lovely. HG: -) xx
