Hero Life Poem by Thomas Plotz

Hero Life

Blood with-drawn from my face,
Hero life filled, with amendments and remnants,
From duties done, protecting the State,
My heart filled with atonement,

Now looking quite pale and yellow,
From that fellow, standing tall in a foreign land,
For my mind has chosen, to be lost and scared,
Scars from the battles rage,
Still trapped within my mental cage,
Thinking of it daily,
Though we all are, to some degree,

You swam over for me,
To see, what you could see,
To see, what we could be,
What we would be,
To free and fix me,

Then the stars and lights,
Shine from the heavens bright,
Shining lights of brilliant night,
Till the rising Sun…
