Hermes Poem by Ima Ryma

Hermes

Hermes, a caracal wild cat,
Often around Cape Town does roam,
Assured in the shared habitat
With humans that this is his home.
Nocturnal, the caracal be
Roaming mainly about at night,
And so the humans rarely see
Hermes in day time out of sight.
Of course Hermes is not alone.
Lots of caracals live close by,
Accustomed to the urban zone.
Live and let live seems to apply.

Of the risks to the cats that are,
Main is being hit by a car.
