I thank the three poets for their excellent comments. But I do not know if they know Gujarati, transliteration of which is given along. No doubt the poem is great. Yet, my contribution is only the translation. Can any one comment on translation? I invite poets who can read/understand Gujarati.
Yes, meaning of happiness differs from people to people.Even for the same person the definition changes from time to time. What is happiness to baby is different from a young man in love. A fantastic write, thanks for sharing.
Thanks indeed, Bharati Nayak I agree with you on what you say about happiness.
A beautiful poem that expresses in detail how happiness can be derived in small things. Although happiness is subjective, majority if not all could relate to all the circumstances stated.in this beautiful poem and they all bring utmost joy and happiness. Excellently crafted and executed.
Thank you Rose Marie, a superb poem no doubt, the question is: how is the translation.
The different stages of life starting from infancy to mature adulthood are beautifully described! Each stage has its own thrills. As a baby, one feels happy in the protective embrace of the mother. As a child attending school, occasional bunking of class and enjoying the sun and rain is thrilling. As a teenager, finding one's love is an excitement. Finally getting settled with wife and kids is the culmination of happiness, A great summing of the various stages of life!
Thank you Valsa George for the feedback. You have an eye to see what is not said expressly.
