This is a wonderfully written narrative poem, Sandra, and one that tells a vivid tale very well. I liked your style of telling this story very much. One thing we do know for sure is that our heroine is not about to wed another sailor of the sea! Carl.

Sounds almost as though you were once married to a Captain. When we become too precious in their world to leave our 'happy' home; it's definitely time to get out of Dodge! ..(smile) I have to engage in cliches when not writing poetry; or I might just explode some day.
