Her mouth sipping keenly
Then playfully holding back,
Her moist lips thirsting,

Hi Bri. Great to see you liked this one and, yes, it’s also about a flower and a butterfly! ! ! I like poems that can be read into various contexts or, if you like, on various levels. Also, thanks for your very perceptive grammatical suggestions, always welcomed. In this case I did mean “poise” instead of “poises”, so will change the original. Much obliged, dear friend.

A bit of a raunchy piece written beautifully love the description of the butterfly tongue. It draws you in from start to finish. Nicely done. Annette
Hi Annette: yes, I thought I risked having this one perceived as raunchy but I really used the sexual imagery as an all-encompassing metaphor for the sort of more general interaction where one person is passive and the other is feeding on her. There are actual books written on etheric vampirism.
Hi Rebecca, You're not going to believe this, but I swear I had just read your Dying poem when I got the alert that you had commented on my poem. I mean, what are the odds with over 100,000 poets here? Since I liked your poem will go back and comment. Regards.
Strong emotions expressed in articulate vocabulary and powerful insight. Beautifully done, lovely piece well put together. Thanks for sharing Rod.
Kind comments, Chinedu. You're always welcome here!
