Her Harsh Words On Me Poem by Francis Duggan

Her Harsh Words On Me

She said to me Francis you will go to hell
For insulting poetry in your doggerel
Even for writing bad rhyme you will never know of literary renown
You are not an asset to your side of the town
Posting your rubbishevery day
How come you do not give rhyming away
Yet of one good thing about you i have taken note
Of that you never refer to yourself as a poet
It is your type who do give poetry a bad name
For this you ought to hang your head in shame
And on my defense to her i could only say
That with rhyming words i am one who loves to play
Her harsh words on me did leave a verbal sting
As the raw truth it can be quite a hurtful thing.
