Helping Others? Poem by Denis Martindale

Do you help others like a friend to show how good you are?
Or is your friendship without end, as if you were a star?
Do you lend money now and then or give your cash away?
Helping charities once again, based on the prayers you pray?

Is Jesus pleased by what you do? Is God somehow impressed?
Does God observe you've got no clue? Or shout, "GIVE IT A REST! "?
Helping others with all your might? Your halo shining through! ?
You can't kid God by day or night! He knows much more than you!

Each sin increases your amount and casts a greater spell!
Don't kid yourself, your sins don't count! Christ paid for yours as well!
Yes, there is hope when you find faith, as many saints have done,
Once they believed that Christ could save, because He is God's Son!

Yes, Christ is helping others live so they help others, too!
In ways God only can forgive, and then make all things new.
