All my life I have been here
Lost in the midst of loneliness
Brought on by fear
let me confess

once in my life I loved
someone, gave him my life
and all and everything I have
alas our love did not survive

so now I am afraid
to love again, then fail.
I may not bear the pain
my mind the strain

but here you are at last
in darkness you stand and
help me forget the past
my heart quickens

with your love I'm mesmerized
and realize now again
I am ready to face the world
to smile at you and say 'Welcome, Love'!
