A hedgehog visited our garden today.
It didn't seem to want to come out to play.
It was so shy. Henceforth, I placed a saucer
Of water where it had settled. Moreover,
I did this quietly so as not to disturb it.
Soon, it emerged from its hiding place, unperturbed.
It sipped, until satisfied, and then passed by.
It only intended to stay for a while.
Nevertheless, it was a lovely moment:
One that I consider to be heaven-sent.
