Hearts Awaken Poem by Byantuyo Rahim

Hearts Awaken

The first time I heard your voice,
It felt like a wave of happiness crashing into my life.
My heart was the beach, and your words were the gentle swash,
Bringing with them a glow I hadn't felt in ages.

You brought a new light into my world-
An incandescent bulb so bright,
I could hardly believe I could see again.

And that smile...
There's something magical about it,
A priceless masterpiece, like it was painted by Da Vinci himself.
Its perfection is as rare as his art.

You're not like the others-
Not like those who hide behind rags or boast in riches.
You're magnificent,
A Juliet walking down the aisle in a golden dress,
Radiating grace and beauty.

You've awakened the dormant parts of me,
Unlocked the chambers my heart had long forgotten.
It's as if you've always held the key.

I can't put it all into words,
But I know this much:
I love you.
