Alone I sat expecting:
A hope of reunion resurrecting.
But against the rocks it was dashed
And I became abashed!
Around you I had built my day
Hoping you would surely come my way
At the thought of you I was gay-
Little wonder I reaped dismay
I trusted you
And held unto your promise
But now I rue
My making your word a premise
I was building a castle
Into which to welcome you
But in the air was my castle-
I shouldn't have expected you!
Here I am-sore.
My heart you tore.
Of timeliness you proved to lack even a token
And hence I am heartbroken
Myself I have to blame;
Expecting you was lame.
My emotions I have tamed
So they can no longer be maimed!
