Heartache Holding On Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Heartache Holding On

Drumsticks rapping away upon the stage, nothing to tell until
the rhythms begin telling our story, both of us being friends
all through this earthly life.

Every day, talking, playing in a band, never tiring of the
melodies that turn sorrow and sadness into joy and happiness,
troubled hearts feeling heartache.

Holding on throughout life, never letting go, feeling the bitter-
ness of what once was when together, bringing the anchor of life
onto shores of a sunsetical horizon that sets upon our last days
here on earth.
